Massive 7.8m Curved Absen LED Wall Installation

Project Overview: Audio Visual Centre (AVC) was commissioned by a premier financial services institution to design and implement a high-performance visual display solution for their mission-critical Monitoring and Operations Room. The project required a seamless, large-format surface capable of aggregating and visualizing complex, real-time data streams with absolute reliability.

The Challenge: The client required a solution that balanced extreme visual clarity with 24/7 operational stability. Key challenges included integrating a curved LED architecture into the specific room geometry and ensuring full hardware redundancy to prevent any single point of failure in a high-stakes financial monitoring environment.

The Solution: AVC delivered an end-to-end ecosystem centered around a 7.8m x 1.6m Absen KLCOB 1.2mm curved LED wall. This was supported by a redundant processing backbone featuring Novastar VX2000 Pro controllers and Datapath VSN400 nodes. To empower operators, the Polywall Pro management platform was integrated, providing a flexible, browser-based interface for dynamic content manipulation and secure, role-based access.

The Result: The installation provides a world-class, immersive monitoring environment. By combining ultra-fine pixel pitch technology with a fully redundant signal path, AVC has equipped the institution with a future-proof operations hub that ensures maximum uptime, enhanced situational awareness, and streamlined data management.

Proposed and Delivered Solution

After detailed design and evaluation, Audio Visual Centre (AVC) deployed a high‑performance, fully redundant curved LED video wall system tailored specifically to the client’s operational environment.

 

1. Absen KLCOB 1.2mm Curved LED Wall (7.8 x 1.6 metres)

The core of the display solution features Absen KLCOB technology, selected for its superior visual performance and ruggedness in mission-critical settings:

  • Ultra-fine 1.2mm Pixel Pitch: Delivers exceptional clarity for operators viewing high-density data at close range.

  • Chip-on-Board (COB) Technology: Provides enhanced durability, high contrast ratios, and superior visual performance under ambient office lighting.

  • Precision Curvature: Engineered with millimeter accuracy to ensure seamless panel alignment and an immersive, world‑class visual finish.

  • 24/7 Reliability: High brightness and color uniformity specifically calibrated for continuous control‑room operation.

    2. Novastar VX2000 Pro LED Controllers

    To drive the massive LED surface, AVC integrated two Novastar VX2000 Pro controllers in a redundant configuration, providing:

    • System Redundancy: Automatic failover capability to ensure uninterrupted signal delivery.

    • 4K Processing: Support for high-resolution video inputs with advanced image scaling.

    • Low-Latency Handling: Smooth switching and signal processing essential for real-time data monitoring.

    3. Datapath VSN400 Video Wall Controllers with Polywall Pro

    The processing architecture utilizes two Datapath VSN400 controllers, designed for high‑density input/output in industrial applications. Layered over the hardware is Polywall Pro, a high-end, browser‑based control platform by Visiology, featuring:

    • Dynamic Layout Management: Intuitive drag‑and‑drop configuration for real-time content arrangement and recall.

    • Operational Automation: Integrated streaming support and scheduling for routine monitoring tasks.

    • Secure Access: Active Directory integration for robust, role‑based user permissions.

    • Universal Compatibility: Seamless integration with CCTV feeds, high‑resolution IP video streams, and web-based dashboards.

    4. Operator Workstations & Monitoring

    AVC deployed twelve 24-inch operator monitors, each linked directly to the Datapath ecosystem. These provide operators with a local, real-time preview of the LED wall and direct control interfaces for content manipulation.

    Signal distribution is managed via Blustream HEX70CS-KIT HDBaseT transmitters and receivers, ensuring:

    • High-Fidelity Transmission: Lossless 4K UHD video delivery across the facility.

    • Stability: Reliable point-to-point connectivity over long distances with minimal latency.

    • Efficiency: Advanced signal management suited for professional operations rooms.

    Outcome

    The completed installation is an enterprise‑grade display environment that exceeds the client’s requirements for reliability, flexibility, and visual precision. The curved LED wall provides an ergonomic, high‑resolution viewing experience, while the integrated control ecosystem empowers operators to manage mission-critical information with maximum efficiency.
